FAQ - When Ready

WHEN WILL MY PRODUCT BE READY?

Upon verification of your order we will email you with an estimated time frame for production. All products are made here in Aruba. Occasionally some items might not be in stock. In such a case we will inform you of such and suggest an alternative. We typically begin production upon receipt of payment (either in store or via electronic transfer). Most orders are produced within 1-2 working days after receipt of payment and final approval. Many items such as photo prints, snow globes, and basic key chains are ready while you wait when time permits. Photo-books may require up to 3 working days.

Canvas requires a longer production time due to the curing period for a canvas print. Expect 5-7 days for a Canvas Print to be stretched, mounted & coated. We do have an instant dry canvas that is slightly more costly but can be made ready within 1-2 days of your order.

DELAYS DUE TO ARTWORK

Changes to artwork, when necessary will delay all related orders. While 4D Photo Bar assumes no responsibility for artwork quality and content, from time to time 4D Photo Bar will contact customers with questions concerning submitted artwork. In such cases orders will be produced once such questions have been resolved. In order to expedite your order, customers are requested to review their emails and reply as soon as possible. Delays in communication will lead to further production delays.

ARE RUSH ORDERS AVAILABLE?

We can produce certain orders within 24 hours or less upon request. Please call us by phone at 5874499 or email us @ info@4dphotobar.com  for the rush order fees, availability and requirements. Rush order fees depend on the product and work involved to produce the rush order. For best results, we recommend rush order requests be handled in store for fastest turn-around time. During holiday periods rush orders fees may vary.

UNTIL WHEN CAN I MODIFY MY ORDER?

All orders can be changed until payment is processed or the order is produced, which ever occurs first. Customers with accounts through 4D Photo Bar may have orders produced prior to payment submission. Once payment is received if the order is not produced, orders may be able to be modified depending on the status of production. Please contact us by email or phone for any concerns.

WHEN IS PAYMENT REQUIRED?

Due to the one of kind nature of all products full payment is required prior to the production of any orders. Instructions for making payments online are available at the following link http://4dphotobar.com/payments.html. In addition customers can come to the store to make payments in person prior to production. Corporate accounts may be established upon approval by management.

DO WE OFFER DELIVERY OR SHIPPING SERVICES?

Local delivery can be arranged on an item-by-item basis depending on proximity and customer needs. Due to the high cost of shipping products to destinations outside of Aruba shipping services are currently not available. We hope to offer such in the future. Currently we can facilitate production in foreign countries with reduced delivery fees through our business partners located abroad. Please inquire by email for what services are available in what countries.

DO WE OFFER COURTESY OR INDUSTRY PRICING?

We at 4D Photo Bar seek to provide the highest quality at the most affordable pricing available in Aruba. Upon prior approval we can extend to Photographers, Corporate Clients and Trade Partners special volume discounts on large volume orders. As quality is our top priority we will not sacrifice quality to offer reduced pricing. We aim for customer satisfaction. Every item we print or manufacture is a sample of our work. As such we will never take shortcuts on quality to reduce prices.

WHAT SPECIFICATION DO WE RECOMMEND FOR IMAGES?

Our standard print engine requires images to be submitted at 300 dpi. For standard photographic prints up to 8”x10” in size we recommend jpg or png images submitted within the sRGB color space (or embedded profile). For high resolution prints we can provide a share folder for customers to transfers us files. We recommend using an Adobe RGB embedded color profile. Upon request we can provide customers with media color profiles prior to submission for proofing purposes. We can accept images in DNG, PSD, TIFF, PNG and PDF file formats. For the best tonal gradation we can process up to 16 bit print files. Please do not provide files in the CMYK or ProPhoto color space or saved as 32 bits. Most of our customers do not utilize a color corrected monitor to view a ProPhoto color space correctly for editing. If you are familiar with rendering intents please indicate if you would prefer we use a Perceptual or Relative Colormetric rendering intent for print output. Color correction is available upon request for an extra fee. Additionally, we can offer image interpolation services for enlargement

WHY DO SOME OF MY IMAGES APPEAR CROPPED?

For standard prints, depending on the image size chosen, images can be expanded beyond the border of a page to ensure that the entire page is covered for print. This means that text, logos and watermarks near the edges of print can often be cropped if placed too close to the edges. It is strongly recommended that all text, logos and watermarks be kept at least 1/16 of an inch (3 mm) away from the borders. In the options dialogue on checkout you can select borderless printing (which will produce slight cropping) or different size white border options to guarantee your image is not cropped during the print process.

On all sublimation products, images are printed beyond the borders of the substrate. The edges of the image will be cropped on the final product. Bleed lines are indicated on the layout templates to guarantee text and critical parts of the images are not omitted from the final product. For the edges of the sublimation substrate not to appear blank during the print process the image must cover the entire provided template, beyond the bleed lines. Bordered printing on sublimated products is not recommended, causing alignment irregularities of a few degrees on the final product due to the hand made manufacturing process.

ARE CUSTOM SIZES AVAILABLE?

All prints can be ordered in custom sizes. We also can leave expanded white borders beyond the size of the print for matting purposes when needed. Please email us for a quotation. For estimate purposes please check the pricing of the next size larger as a guideline for custom size pricing.

HOW LONG DO METAL PRINTS LAST?

At 4D Photo Bar we produce all our metal panels on ChromaLuxe HD Metal Photo Panels. ChromaLuxe is the world’s leading manufacturer of high definition sublimatable photo panels. Through dye sublimation, images are created by infusing dyes directly into ChromaLuxe’s specially coated sheets of metal, wood, and table top panels. High definition vibrant colors are coupled with superior fade, moisture, stain and scratch resistant properties. This makes ChromaLuxe panels an excellent choice for commercial, fine art and home décor applications. Two independent and highly respected research and testing laboratories have conducted environmental life tests on ChromaLuxe Photo Panels and have clearly concluded that ChromaLuxe HD Metal prints are the longest lasting photo medium in the market. The first laboratories’ testing replicated the effects of incandescent lighting along with indirect natural sunlight against the likelihood of noticeable fading over time. ChromaLuxe was compared against the top three long-lasting (archival) photo papers with test results showing that ChromaLuxe lasts twice as long as the next closest photo paper and four times longer than the third best photo paper. The second independent laboratories’ testing replicated the effects of fluorescent lighting in a windowless office environment. In this test, measuring the likelihood of noticeable fading, ChromaLuxe outlasted its next closest long-lasting photo paper by a factor of 1.7 times the life of the photo paper.

HOW DO I CLEAN & CARE FOR METAL PRINTS?

ChromaLuxe photo panels have an extremely durable scratch resistant surface that is waterproof and can be cleaned easily with a microfiber cloth, household degreasers, or a damp cloth. No cleaners containing ammonia, abrasives or corrosive chemicals should be used. Metal prints are highly recommended for use in high traffic areas, Spas, Hospitals and challenging environments. Even though the surface of the print is mostly scratch resistant the edges and corners can either ding or chip. Please don’t drop your print or bang it around. In addition, ChromaLuxe photo panels are archival, fire resistant, and chemical resistant.

HOW LONG WILL MY LARGE FORMAT CANVAS & ARCHIVAL PAPER PRINTS LAST?

No one can predict the exact amount of time a print will last. 4D Photo Bar uses only top rated original archival pigment inks that have been measured to have a display life of greater than 100 years before fading will occur (depending on environment). Determining factors also include the type of paper used and where the image is displayed. Print durability testing has shown our pigment inks may last up to three times longer than traditional photographic prints or dye based prints. We do recommend hanging all prints out of direct sunlight for optimal longevity. Displaying any print on a fridge door will subject the print to premature aging due to the ozone released from modern refrigerators. You may request an optional protective coating to protect your prints from ultraviolet rays of the sun. All our canvas prints are coated with a liquid laminate UV resistant coating for increased resistance to fading. For best results we recommend framing your Giclée prints using ultraviolet filtered glass.
