Size recommendations account for cropping to the canvas face. Resolution is only part of quality: this check cannot detect blur or missed focus. Always review your crop when ordering.
What happens if my photo is too small?
Compare the same photo at the same display size. Too few pixels usually make an enlarged canvas look softer and slightly blurry, with less fine detail.
Illustration only: this gently softened example shows loss of detail, not a calibrated preview of 150 PPI or your finished canvas. Screen size and viewing distance affect what you see.
Start with your original camera file. If your preferred size falls below our resolution target, we recommend requesting resolution enhancement (Afl. 29 per canvas item). It can improve some photos, but cannot guarantee recovery of missing detail or missed focus.

- iPhone or iPad: Open the original photo in Photos, then swipe up or tap the information (i) button. Look for dimensions such as 4032 × 3024.
- Android: Open the photo in Google Photos or your Gallery app. Swipe up, or open the ⋮ menu and choose Details or Info. The wording varies by phone.
- Windows: In File Explorer, right-click the photo, choose Properties, then Details. Look for Dimensions, Width and Height.
- Mac: Open the photo in Preview, then choose Tools → Show Inspector. Look for Image size in pixels.

How does viewing distance affect quality?
150 PPI for closer viewing. Choose this for canvases you will look at close up.
125 PPI for viewing farther away. A practical guide for larger canvases over a bed or sofa. The two largest examples above use 125 PPI.
Canvas texture is forgiving of small differences in detail. A photo should still be in focus; more pixels cannot undo blur. These recommendations are for canvas, not metal prints.

Try the original camera file or choose a smaller canvas. You can also select Resolution enhancement — Afl. 29 per canvas item when ordering. Enhancement may improve clarity but cannot guarantee missing detail or fix an out-of-focus photo.

Resolution enhancement increases your image’s pixel dimensions and may improve detail when enlarged. Results depend on the original file; it cannot guarantee recovery of missing detail or fix a badly blurred photo. Contact us about extensive retouching or restoration.
What size will suit my wall?
Compare canvas size and hanging height above a bed or sofa in one view. A useful starting point is artwork about two-thirds to three-quarters of the furniture’s width—then adjust for your room and the look you love.
Light wall: up to 10 ft / 3.05 m
Shaded band: up to 12 ft / 3.66 m
About this size guide
The teal dashed line marks a 2.5-meter ceiling (about 8 ft 2 in). The rose dashed line marks 10 feet (3.05 m); the darker upper band extends to 12 feet (3.66 m). Canvas and furniture stay at the same scale. The example mattress top is 25″ (63.5 cm) from the floor; actual heights vary. The gap is measured to the canvas edge, not its hook. Bed references use US mattress widths; headboards vary. Sofa width is an example. Measure your furniture and available wall before ordering. In the three-panel illustration the selected size is the combined artwork size, plus two 2″ gaps; available split-canvas sets have their own panel dimensions.

How will the edges look?
Choose how your photo finishes around the sides. Mirrored and custom-color edges preserve the front composition; extended edges wrap part of the original photo around the sides.
Mirrored edge
A sharp reflection of the outer edge finishes the sides while preserving your photo on the front.
Extended edge
Your original photo wraps around the sides. Nothing is added, mirrored or stretched; part of the image moves onto the edges, leaving a tighter crop on the front.
Softened mirrored edge
The outer edge is reflected and softened on the sides only. Your photo stays sharp on the front.
Custom color edge
A solid color complements your photo. Light blue is shown here.

How is my canvas made and hung?
Beautiful construction matters behind the canvas, too. Here are the details that support a clean face and a stable display.
Raised-edge kiln-dried stretcher bars
The shaped outer lip lifts the canvas away from the flat face of the wood. This helps prevent a visible wooden outline pressing through the image—a detail that ordinary flat timber does not provide.
Cross braces for larger canvases
Internal cross braces support the stretcher frame and help larger canvases remain rigid and square. The back view shows the brace and its connections; bracing is matched to the canvas size.
French cleat mounting
Interlocking wall and canvas rails distribute the load across a wider support and help the artwork sit level and steady. A good choice for hotels, vacation rentals and commercial spaces. For added resistance to lift-off, ask about compatible security hardware and installation.

Fredrix Archival
Certified Archival · 470 GSM
Our thickest canvas, with a relatively smooth surface for fine art and photographic reproductions.
Material details
20 mil thick (about 0.51 mm), with a 2-over-1 weave. The acid-free, pH-neutral poly-cotton base provides consistent results throughout the print run.
A high-white canvas without optical brightening agents (OBAs), offering one of the highest white levels available for an OBA-free canvas.
WIR print permanence rating: up to 200 years under specified test conditions. The certificate reports more than 200 years with Canon LUCIA EX pigment inks behind UV-filter glazing. Results vary by ink system and display conditions; this is not a 200-year guarantee for an exposed canvas.
Actual material photographs. Texture and reflections vary with viewing angle and lighting; a screen cannot reproduce the surface exactly.
How do you protect canvas from Aruba’s strong sunlight?
A protective satin finish, professionally applied.
Strong sunlight through a window can fade artwork over time. For our spray-varnished canvases, we use Sunset Satin Coating, a clear protective varnish with UV inhibitors that help reduce light-related fading.
We apply the varnish professionally with a commercial HVLP spray gun in our spray booth. The fine spray creates an even coating that preserves the canvas texture, with a subtle satin sheen and low glare.
Printing, allowing the print to dry, spraying and letting the coating dry properly are separate production steps. That careful finishing process is part of the time needed to make your canvas.
UV protection helps slow fading; it does not make artwork fade-proof. For the longest life, avoid prolonged direct sunlight, including sun falling directly on the canvas through a window.
How long will my order take?
Production starts after payment. Pay by bank transfer or in store. We count working days; weekends are excluded.
Satin canvas: allow 3 working days after payment. For other canvas finishes, allow 3–7 working days. Large orders and busy periods may require additional time.
Need it sooner? Rush production within 24 hours is subject to availability and an additional fee. Rush orders receive production priority; larger quantities may still require additional time.
